It was great to meet the people who carried the Olympic Torch through Sandwell. They came to meet Pat and I on the day the Olympic Games started
July 27, 2012
Pat and I at the Salvation Army in Cradley Heath with Ivor Lucas and his daughter Fiona. All across the country bells were rung to welcome with London 2012 Olympic Games.
I planted six trees – one in each of Sandwell’s towns – to mark the Queen’s Jubilee year.
Amazing to think they will be here for possibly hundreds of years to come.
We had a walk around the new pavilion in Dartmouth Park. The cafe there is open every day during the school holidays and also on the weekend.
Here I am doing some gardening – planting an Oak Tree in Brunswick Park to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee year.
